Why not to buy Honor 5X in Pakistan

Currently Chines manufacturer Huawei is gaining worldwide popularity. In fact it is the third most successful cell phone maker after the Samsung and Apple. At the moment, it offers many different mobile phones with unique features and good build quality in many different price ranges. Honor 5X is its one of new phones that comes with a premium finish and a price that is affordable to most people.
Honor 5X is 85$ more costly in Pakistan

Unfortunately its low price which is the main advantage of 5X in all other markets is not a benefit in Pakistan, thanks to ridiculously high price set by Huawei in Pakistan. Honor 5X has an official price tag of 29000PKR, which at time moment is equal to 285USD.

In other markets like Europe and India its price in 199USD and 12999INR. So obviously its price in Pakistan casts about 85USD or 8900 Pakistani rupees more. Definitely this high price is a deal breaker and it’s really unjust to charge about 50% more per peace then other markets.

Perhaps you might suppose that this price hike is imposed due to high amount of taxes imposed by the Pakistani government. But if this is true, then why Google Nexus 6P which is built by Huawei for the internet search joint has almost same prices in Pakistan as in any other country.

The price of 64GB version of Google/Huawei Nexus 6P was 42999 Indian rupees at its launch, this amount is equivalent to 67000 Pakistani rupees and its price is Pakistan was 72000PKR, so price difference was about 5000 only which is due to high amount of taxes on mobile imports. So a prices difference of 9000PKR is really a deal breaker.

Conclusion

If you are in Pakistan and want to buy Honor 5X with your hard earned cash then be patient and please step back. Its price in Pakistan is higher than other international markets and its shame that instead of facilitating a company like Huawei is looting our people.

Alternative

So you might question what the best alternative to Honor 5X is. To me it is Oppo F1. Fine F1 by Oppo has a decent camera of 13MP and 8MP front facing camera for selfie lovers. And its price is 16000 INR in India which nicely matches to its prices in Pakistan which is around 26000PKR.
Oppo Find F1 is also all metal body and 30$ cheaper in Pakistan

Mobile Companies we Love to see in Pakistan

Pakistan is a rapidly increasing market of smart phones in the world. With the increase of 3G/4G networks more and more people are buying smart phones. As here in Pakistan per capita income is very low, so naturally buying power of the average Pakistani mobile customer is also low and people here can’t afford mobile likes Galaxy S6, HTC One M9, LG G4 let alone iPhone 6S or 6S Plus. (unless you have your father or brother working oversees.)

So clearly here dominant players are mid-range and entry levels smart phone venders like QMobile. In budget and entry level smart phone also we love to see some international presence, which have good quality products but they are not operation in Pakistan. There are good chances that they can attract a lot of customers here. This will be beneficial for both parties’ i.e. Pakistani customer and that particular company. Here are the names of four mobile manufacturers whose products I would really want to see in Pakistani stores.
Xiomi Mi 5

1.    Xiomi

Xiomi Mi 4s
Among all chines manufactures Xiomi has strongest fan following and its products are popular not only in China but in all markets where it is operational. Good quality products at half price than the big name like Samsung and Apple and the motto of Xiomi. That’s why it rules in almost all emerging markets, due to good quality at really good price.

Its most recent products are Xiomi Mi 5 and Mi 4s. Mi 5 is Xiomi’s flagship with specifications comparable to Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5, but its main advantage is its price which is almost half of those. On the other hand Mi 4s is a midrange phone with awesome hardware. These two phone have all the potential to became a heavy hit in China and other Xiomi markets.

2.    Motorola

Although currently it is owned by Lenovo, the American manufacturer Motorola Mobility is one of the oldest in the game. Motorola has seen rise and falls and it had been sold twice, once to Google, and then again to Lenovo. Nevertheless its mobile lines Moto G and Moto E are two well admired and popular budget and entry level mobile phone.
Moto G 3rd Generation

Currently in its 3rd generation, Moto G in one of the best budget smartphones in market. Also its younger sibling Moto E is a decent entry level smart phone at an affordable price.

Now let some high quality flagship manufactures with really good prices.

3.    Google Nexus Series

Google Nexus 6P
Nexus series mobiles are sold by Google. These devices are popular due to their low price and pure android experience. Evert year Google brings a new Nexus mobile in market, but in 2016 there were tow. Nexus 5X is made by LG, which is updated and refined version of Nexus 5 sold in 2014 and made by same OEM.

The other phone in Google Nexus 6, which is a massive 6’ phablet made by Huawei.

4.    One Plus

One Plus is a company which has its reputation for making prime products at the most reasonable prices. Quality of the One Plus mobiles is comparable to Samsung, LG, HTC and Sony’s flagship devices but their price is much lower than all of these.

These mobile are packed with beefy hardware and came with some distinct features. Instead of stock android they are equipped with custom built ROM OxygenOS, which is more customizable and had its own unique features. Current Products of One Plus are One Plus 2 and One Plus X. One Plus two is a high-end smart phone, which is rightly called ‘flagship killer’. It had all the virtues and style of a flagship at half price. One Plus X is the budget phone by the company which also has really good hardware in that price range.
